This extraordinary little tree packs quite a punch. In late winter the neon pink clusters of buds begin to cover the branches of Cercis chinensis ‘Avondale’ which burst open in Spring to become rose-pink pea shaped flowers. The flower density is such that the tree resembles coral. Later large bright green, heart shaped leaves emerge for the warmer months, turning butter yellow in Autumn. Cercis chinensis ‘Avondale’ grows to 3m high by 3m wide making it a lovely feature tree for a small space. Best grown with regular watering and protection from harsh sun.
